Almondsbury Parish Council forms the second tier of local government, after South Gloucestershire Council to represent and serve the people and communities within the parish. Our parish extends far beyond Almondsbury Village and encompasses the diverse communities of Cribbs Causeway, Catbrain, Easter Compton, Compton Greenfield, Hallen, Over, Gaunt’s Earthcott, Charlton and Hortham, each contributing to the unique character and strength of the area.

The Council’s aspiration is to ‘connect communities, shape places and improve the quality of parish life for current and future generations’, placing residents, community wellbeing and sustainable decision-making at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that our parish is defined not only by its individual communities but also by the pathways, relationships and shared opportunities that connect them. Strengthening these connections and ensuring that every community feels represented, valued and heard is a key priority for the Council.

As part of this commitment, Almondsbury Parish Council will be developing a new Parish Strategy to help shape a clear vision for the future. This work will focus on strengthening community cohesion across the parish, identifying shared priorities, and creating opportunities for greater engagement between residents, local organisations and businesses throughout the civil parish of Almondsbury, serving all 10 communities.

The role of the Parish Council is to help ensure that our parish remains a thriving, welcoming and attractive place in which to live, work and visit. We achieve this by working collaboratively as a dedicated team of Councillors and Officers, alongside community groups, local stakeholders and public sector partners.
